NEWTON – Alysha Rentas, a major in Applied Forensic Science at Lasell University, has been recognized as a mentor for local high school students taking dual enrollment college courses in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Rentas, a local from Athol, partnered with high school students in school districts who otherwise might not have easy access to advanced placement or dual-enrollment courses to guide them through their college education. and their career exploration.
“The mentors were Lasell students specializing in this area, who supported high school students with course content and shared information about future studies in this area,” said Prof. Claudia Rinaldi. “The aim was to encourage more career exploration and higher education among high school participants.”

NORTHFIELD, VT – Athol’s Amberlyn Marie Newton received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Norwich at the May 1 launch ceremony as part of a hybrid of live streaming and in-person virtual events campus-wide in accordance with Vermont pandemic guidelines and the Health and Safety of the Norwich Community as the highest priority. Newton has been recognized on the University of Norwich’s Dean’s List for the 2021 spring semester.
SPRINGFIELD – Springfield College recognizes the following local 2021 graduates:
■ Alyssa Dumonsau, from Orange, holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
■ Nicole Chadbourne of Athol, obtained a Masters of Social Work in Social Work.
WORCESTER – The criteria for the Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Dean’s List differ from most other universities because WPI does not calculate a cumulative grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work done at A level in courses and projects. The following undergraduates have been named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List:
