BIGLITTLE Theater School to Present Broadway Shows
The show must go on – a Dorset theater school embodies this famous showbiz mantra.
The BIGLITTLE Theater School, which runs classes for young people in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Ringwood, was forced to cancel its annual Broadway Showtunes production last year due to the pandemic.
But the show is finally back this month for its 20th summer season. Traditionally it has been staged at the Pavilion Theater in Bournemouth, but has moved this year to Windsor Hall at BIC.
The move will allow young actors to be socially distanced both on and off stage, and will also ensure many socially distanced seats in the auditorium.
Collin Billing, COO and Executive Producer, said: “We are delighted that despite many challenges and disappointment and delay in lifting covid restrictions, we are still able to bring this show to life, the all in its social distancing format.
“Broadway Showtunes gives our young actors the opportunity to do what they love and to perform once again in front of a live audience. We are exceptionally proud of all of the students and our amazing creative and production team. who did everything to make this show a reality. ”
The cast of students trained in musical theater will perform some of the most beloved songs from the greatest musicals of all time. Backed by a West End orchestra, Broadway Showtunes has been bringing a taste of Broadway to Bournemouth for two decades.
This year’s show takes place July 15-17. Tickets are on sale at the BH Live box office at bhlivetickets.co.uk.
