Alexandra Ann von Almen de Ponchatoula obtained a doctorate from the School of Veterinary Medicine.
LSU Law School awarded degrees in Juris Doctor and Comparative Law to Morgan Taylor Sharp of Amite.
University of Mississippi
Hammond’s Olivia Lynn Maurer and Sean McKenzie and Robert’s Hal Fox have been named to the 2021 Spring Chancellor’s Roll of Honor at the University of Mississippi. Each has achieved a cumulative semester GPA of 3.75 to 4.00.
The following students from Tangipahoa Parish were candidates for graduation: Zachary Hunter Ragsdale, of Folsom, master of accounting and data analysis; Ellen Lorraine Gambel and Cooper Hughs Jordan, both of Hammond and both with a bachelor’s degree in business administration; Emily Christine Rusciano, of Hammond, doctor of pharmacy.
Roanoke, Virginia – Clairanne Maxine-Louise Johnson, of Ponchatoula, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication and music studies at the 179th Hollins University launch ceremony on May 19. She was named to the Dean’s List for the 2021 spring semester after achieving at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 rating scale. She is a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and her parents are Bradley and Sandra Johnson from Ponchatoula.
Southern New Hampshire
Ten students from the Tangipahoa Parish Area have been named to the 2021 Winter President’s List at Southern New Hampshire University with a minimum GPA of 3,700. They are Christopher Rainey, Terrance Staten, Kailyn Duncan and Kenneth Miller, all of Hammond; Alice Stewart of Amite; Edward Sharp of Albany; Jessica Tate and Erin Luebke, both of Independence; Léonard Losch de Ponchatoula; and Faith Mancil of Tickfaw.
Four students from Tangipahoa Parish were named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2021 Dean’s List with a minimum GPA of 3,500. They are Elizabeth Distefano and Kellee Williams, both from Ponchatoula; Brittney Norman of Springfield; and Giovanni Costanza of Hammond.
Carlton Sibley of Loranger and Annette Dorsey of Tickfaw graduated from Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi. Sibley is also a 2021 Spring Semester Scholar with a GPA of 4.0.
Northwestern State University awarded 964 degrees to 935 graduates during the spring 2021 opening ceremonies. Among them were Centrel Washington, BSc, and Candace Thomas, Master of Education, both from Hammond; Michael Leonard, Associate in Nursing, and Kaitlyn Hawkins, Bachelor of Science, both from Ponchatoula; Deborah Jenkins, Masters of Nursing, of Loranger.
Brayden Kimbrough of Ponchatoula has been named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Kimbrough had an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a course load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
Blake Falconello received a doctorate in physiotherapy and Patrick Laborde received a doctorate in pharmacy from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Laborde was also one of 62 students named to the College of Pharmacy Dean’s List for the spring of 2021. Both graduates are from Hammond.
Agustin Cayere-Lopez of Hammond received a BS in Biology from Centenary College in Shreveport.
Abby Maria Hebert, a criminal justice major from Hammond, made the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri, having a GPA of 3.3 or above; at least 12 hours graded for the semester and no “D”, “F” or “incomplete” grades for the semester.
