The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association (ICSA), in association with FPM Accountants, will host a webinar on Farm Debt Solutions on Wednesday 15 June.

The free event was designed to help members of the farming community who are struggling with unmanageable debt or mortgage arrears.

The farm debt event will feature insolvency specialist Gary Digney of accounting firm FPM.

Commenting on the upcoming webinar, CAHI President Dermot Kelleher said, “Experience has shown us that farms and farm families can fall into serious financial hardship for a wide variety of reasons, and often through very little fault on their part.

“However, farmers need to be aware that there are solutions, no matter how intractable the situation may seem. It’s never too late to seek help and many people will be amazed at what can actually be done to save homes and farms that are on the edge of the financial cliff.

“There is legislation that can be used to help even those who think they are beyond help,” Kelleher added.

The seminar is open to any farmer or farm family in financial difficulty, and attendees can attend anonymously, as CAHI has said confidentiality is guaranteed.

“The webinar will discuss the debt solutions available to you and the benefits they could bring,” Kelleher said.
